We use a YM1300d tractor here at the yardstead. This is a 4x4 13hp diesel tractor. We have been using it for a few years now. Mostly I run it with the Yanmar tiller attachment(see picture below). I also use it occasionally with a 4ft bush hog or 4ft finish mower. The bush hog is a little bit heavy so I add 2 80lb weight on the front bumper when it is attached. The finish mower is much lighter and runs well with no added weight. I have been very satisfied with this tractor.

hello jason, do you know the model number of your Yanmar tiller. I have a Yanmar YM 1300D with what looks like the same tiller. I am trying to locate a manual for the tiller. I am very happy with my ym1300d also.

im not sure of the model number exactly. The decal with the number has rubbed off. There is an id plate with what looks like the serial number stamped on it, but everything but the number is in Japanese. It is made by yanmar and likely to be the same model as your tiller. I will take a better picture of just the tiller and post it soon.

I am considering buying a used Yanmar YM1500. Have you had any problems with your YM1300D? Is it diffficult to find parts? I dont recall seeing an hour meter on the YM1500, should there be one, if so where?

There should be a three digit hour meter on the dash of the YM1500. It will most likely show 600-800 hrs which is common for an early 80's Yanmar (I assume it's gray market) if it shows less than 300 hrs it may have rolled over already, but that should not worry you. Even after 1000 hrs these Yanmar tractors are just broken in good and should last for many more years. I have not any trouble with my 1300D. I have been using it for at least 5 years for mowing and tilling and have never had a single problem. I have no trouble finding parts. I order parts from Hoye Tractor and they seem to have every part imaginable, although I have only ordered a gas cap, fuel filters and a light bulb. They also carry user manuals for Yanmar tractors.

It is a gray market tractor. I must have overlooked the hours meter, I will be looking at this tractor again later today and will check it out. Do you know hom many horsepower the PTO on the YM1500 is rated? I have a 4ft mower I plan to use with it. How much trouble is it mowing, since ther is no overrun clutch on these gray market tractors.
